Project feasibility studies

Our client was looking to purchase a block of land to build a family home. Their budget allowed for a land purchase price of $1.7m and construction budget of $700k. After finding a vancant lot to build on DH&Co. ran a feasibility study to determine wether the lot would fall within the budget, program and value of the lot. At face value the client believed that their budget of $2.3m was sufficient to purchase the land and build their dream home.

After a site inspection we identified that the block was riddled with complications and significant shortfalls requiring significant civil works to prepare the lot prior to the commencement of any build. As such out feasibility report identified that projects costs would require a budget of $3.2m. This resulted in the client being able to walk away from potentially committing to a project that fell well outside their budget.
